Strategic Health Authorities

As from 3 October 2011 NHS North East, NHS Yorkshire & the Humber and NHS North West - the three strategic health authorities in the north of England will be placed under a single management framework. This will mean one executive team managing the three strategic health authorities, however each will remain as their own statutory body.

The North East Strategic Health Authority is responsible for making sure that health services in the region are fit for purpose, well planned, high quality and meet all Department of Health targets.
